A one-day networking event featuring free workshops from independent Manchester business successes – Eat Well MCR, Northern Flower, Three Little Words, and Track Brewery – is being hosted in the city on Thursday 26 January. It also includes the opportunity to try out a Barry’s fitness class, attend tech talks and speed branding sessions, and get your headshot taken by a pro. Fuelled by Albert’s Schloss, Gooey, and Nell’s, and soundtracked by Ded Luvly, Stells Selection, and P Ro Jones.
Flexible workspace operator, Clockwise has organised the We’re Electric event to celebrate launching its new co-working space inside Linley House. The name gives a nod to the building’s power generator history, while the event shines a light on some of the small, independent businesses that call Manchester home.
Kicking the event off, Northern Flower will be running a terrarium workshop for green fingered attendees, while renowned Manchester brewer Track Brewery will host a beer tasting event across the afternoon. If cocktails are more your thing, Three Little Words mixologists are providing a guided demonstration and tasting of four different styles of martini – including their clear espresso martini – using spirits created in their on-site distillery at The Spirit of Manchester. A Barry’s Bootcamp will also be there to get hearts pounding with a free fitness class.
Soundtracking the event will be some of Manchester’s finest up and coming record labels, including; Ded Luvly, Stells Selections and P Ro Jones of Love Scene. Food will be provided via Nell’s and Gooey, with huge pizza slices and stacked cookies available throughout the afternoon. Manchester favourite Albert’s Schloss will also keep the drinks flowing all night long.
What’s more, renowned chef and founder of Eat Well MCR Mary-Ellen McTague will be hosting a unique sauerkraut making class.
We’re Electric runs from 1-10pm and for those looking to grow their business or meet like minded business people, there’ll be a chance to attend tech talks, meet branding experts, and get headshots taken by acclaimed photographer Shaun Peckham. He’s worked with some of the biggest brands in the UK such as Puma, Carhartt WIP, and Warehouse Projects, so it’s a great opportunity to finally update your LinkedIn profile pic.
Manchester is Clockwise’s ninth destination across the UK, located inside Linley House on Dickinson Street, just off Portland Street in the city centre. The venue is set over eight floors spanning 30,000 square feet in total and includes dedicated office space, private desks and meeting rooms, alongside breakout areas, and club lounges created to support different styles of working. Members also have access to a podcast recording room and onsite artisan café, Two Hands.
The space has been designed to reflect the changing nature of work, with flexible licences and technology enabling seamless communication between those at home or in office spaces, including the Clockwise portal and in-house A/V.
