Manchester’s most inclusive art event, the Manchester Open, is set to return for its third edition in 2024. HOME Gallery announced that from Saturday 3 February to Sunday 28 April 2024, its walls will serve as a canvas for Greater Manchester’s artistic community, celebrating a wide range of talents and art forms.

Artists, irrespective of their professional background or experience, are invited to participate. From established professionals to first-time artists, everyone stands an equal chance to have their work displayed. The event is a testament to the inclusivity and diversity that Manchester is renowned for, welcoming a variety of mediums such as paintings, sculptures, digital and mixed media, photography, audio, and video submissions.

Submissions will officially commence on Wednesday 16 August and will remain open until Sunday 1 October. Artists who want to contribute can find the submission portal linked on the main exhibition page: https://homemcr.org/exhibition/manchester-open-2024/.

One significant highlight of the event is the collaboration with Castlefield Gallery to determine this year’s Manchester Open Awards. In addition to expert-selected awards, the People’s Prize, a crowd favourite, will once again allow gallery visitors to choose their top pick.

All entrants should be aware that the submission window is relatively narrow, with a closing date set for Sunday 1 October. Successful entrants will be informed about their selection by the end of November.
