Local taxi driver John Consterdine has come up with a Taxi Tour/Afternoon Tea and I want to go on it. Now.
First of all there’s the taxi tour – where you sit down in the back of an electric Black Cab and get taken on a trip around the city’s most famous sights – all while John regales you with some great insider stories.
Already this sounds good. What else?
Well, Manchester’s only tour guide and taxi driver has now extended his CV to include waiter, as he’s teamed up with legendary patisserie and chocolatiers Slattery’s to offer up an Afternoon Tea right there in the back of the cab!
Usually the only thing getting eaten in the back of a taxi is a sly kebab when the driver isn’t looking, but not any more. You can enjoy a selection of sandwiches, pastries, mini cakes and scones with jam & cream – all served up by John on the tour.
As the second most famous taxi driver in the UK called John, his tours are a must – even if you’ve lived here all your life he can still tell you plenty of things you never knew about the city.
