The Talleyrand is known for being Levenshulme’s hub of avant-garde creativity, holding regular gigs, art events and show previews alongside its marvellous selection of well travelled craft beers.

Recently, it took to social media to announce the addition of a brand-new arts charity, Excavate Arts, which The Talleyrand is taking a leading role in the creation of.

It’s a new arts charity that will support local musicians, artists, performers and filmmakers by creating opportunities to create and engage in culture in the area (South Manchester).

The team behind the venture are currently looking for trustees from all ages and backgrounds to take part at this early stage in shaping its strategic vision.

Based at The Talleyrand, Excavate Arts will bring a high standard of culture, educational workshops and training opportunities to the communities with whom it operates whilst remaining accessible and welcoming to all.

They are looking for founding trustees to join them as the venue constitutes a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO).

As part of the Trustees team, you will directly influence the way the CIO is governed, what The Talleyrand’s programming looks like, and how it interacts with its communities. You will be encouraged to test new ideas, engage with artists and develop projects that offer community cohesion and positive intervention.

They are looking for people who may already work in the cultural industries and want to help new artists and audiences come together, or who wish to use their knowledge to support The Talleyrand’s programming team and fundraising activities.

They have stated that they’d like to hear from those who want to utilise their understanding of the cultural sector, VCSE sector, accountancy, or marketing, as well people of all ages, faiths and backgrounds from the local community who would like to develop skills in arts planning and learn from a team of supportive peers.

For more information, to express an interest or just to take a look at the trustee pack, you can drop them an email at talleyrandmcr@gmail.com.
