You can find cinema screenings pretty much anywhere these days, from the roof of a car park in Stretford to the stunning Edwardian beauty of Victoria Baths – most places have had a big screen knocked up inside it at some point in the last few years.

Well, now it’s time to experience cinema in somewhere completely different to all that – an actual bloody cave.

The Village Screen are setting up shop at the Peak Cavern just outside Castleton for a selection of screenings that in the past have been described as a “truly amazing experience” with the atmosphere being “phenomenal.”

Over the first weekend, they will be screening smash hit Bohemian Rhapsody (Thursday 30th May & Saturday 1st June), cult thriller The Lost Boys (Friday 31st May), and Spielberg smasher Jurassic Park (Sunday 2nd June).

The second weekend brings another fantastic line up with an extra screening of The Lost Boys (Thursday 6th June), gripping cave horror The Descent (Friday 7th June), Batman Returns (Saturday 8th June) and Raiders of the Lost Ark (Sunday 9th June).

The Village Screen bar will be serving a selection of delicious drinks both inside the cave and within the car park area of the cave. Cinema-goers will be able to grab a scrumptious ice cream or a box of fresh popcorn before heading into the cave to watch each film against the backdrop of the setting sun.
