
We love
The River Restaurant at The Lowry Hotel for their modern approach to British cuisine. The menu is full of classics which have a sense of a time-gone-by but with a twist which is current and up to date.
What is even more exciting is that
The Lowry Hotel is offering 25% off the menu until the end of September which means the stunning food will taste that little bit better (if that is even possible!)

Choose from an array of classic starters such as
lobster macaroni cheese with citrus and garlic panko breadcrumbs, a mouth-watering
Pan-fried wood pigeon with Garstang blue cheese mousse, pickled celery and caramelised walnut.

Also on the starters list is my absolute kryptonite - the
crispy duck spring roll pickled mooli, cucumber and plum sauce along with the
terrine of Frankie Bird's Chicken with Foie Gras and Confit garlic.

Stand-out main dishes include
Josper Grilled Cheshire farm steak cooked to your liking and served with triple cooked chips and garlic, lemon and thyme butter.
There's also a
Tart Fine of Butternut Squash and Pear with purple sprouting broccoli, radish and maple syrup.
Failing that, you could always go for their expertly cooked
Frankie Bird’s Chicken with Parmesan, Summer Truffle and Watercress.

Desserts include the likes of
Sticky Toffee & Medjool Date pudding,
Treacle Tart with marmalade ice cream or the delectable
Dark Chocolate Souffle served with marinated raspberries, raspberry sorbet and a drizzle of chocolate sauce.
