As summer draws to a close and the evenings get longer, many of us are bound to spend less time in beer gardens and more in cosy pubs, armed with a pint of stout and a triple wrapped scarf.
However, NOMA, the city centre neighbourhood which sits just behind Victoria Station, has announced a garden party featuring a massive line-up of workshops, music, food and drink to celebrate the drawing in of the summer months.
There’ll be loads to do across the event, which sees independent Manchester-based brewery, Cloudwater operating two bars across the site pouring pint upon pint of its homebrewed lager, IPAs and barley wine from the seasonal brewers.
Aside from this, New Century, the newest member of the NOMA neighbourhood has finally opened its doors and there’s SO MUCH to explore here. Find excellent street food vendors including; Adam Reid’s Butty Shop, PLY, Banh Ví, Zumuku Sushi, Bao Bros and Tallow, alongside specially made cocktails and interiors straight from the 70s.
Art, workshops and performance lead the way in entertainment across the three-day party with highlights from the likes of Polyspore, who will teach visitors how to grow mushrooms and explore the different uses for the unique fungi in everyday life.
A full line-up of musicians and DJs will soundtrack the event and there’s plenty to keep the kids occupied, too, from woodland animals to participatory musical ensembles and collaborative art workshops where guests can contribute to the Big Garden Party flag.
And if that’s not enough, Cinderwood Market Garden will be there with fresh, locally grown produce from its one acre market garden in Cheshire. The market was built upon a relationship between a grower and a chef who believe in farming food for flavour.
It grows all year round using regenerative farming methods and organic principles, supplying and delivering vegetables, herbs, salad leaves and fruit to the North-West. Finally, Pippy Eats will pop-up with her Mini Mart full of glorious Asian goods and homemade sauces to sample across the three days.
The Big Garden Party is free to attend, and you can view the full programme and register now for tickets via the link below.
