Located in the basement of Bonded Warehouse, Project Halcyon is a brand-new bar and distillery with nods to the decadent drinking era of the 1920s.

Complete with an orange-hue from its golden fixtures and old school distillery, the bar recently reopened as a passion project from the team behind Irlam-based distillery Zymurgorium.

Already known for its scientific brews and emporium of spirits spanning gin, gin liqueurs and rum, Zymurgorium has extended its expertise to Project Halcyon where drinkers will be treated to a rotating, seasonal drinks menu never lacking creative flair.

For example, Project Halcyon is offering one drink per spirit to give guests a huge menu to choose from. Those treated to the full experience will get a chance to rummage through the venue’s inviting cages, crammed full of every spirit under the sun and also the biggest absinthe collection in Manchester.

The bar’s 1920s interior was once frequented by The Beatles, who recorded their first ever TV appearance at Granada on Wednesday 17th of October 1962, booked by renowned Granada producer and impresario Johnnie Hamp.

Now, Project Halcyon has transformed the ageing venue into an exciting and innovative new space, fitting for an evening of splendour, decadence and curated drinks.

Alongside its after dark debauchery and weekend tipples, Project Halcyon will also host immersive masterclass sessions in distilling spirits, as well as spirit tastings and cocktail masterclasses, which are available to be booked for a range of events.

Project Halcyon is open from 5pm – 1am Monday, Thursday and Sunday and 3pm – 1am Friday and Saturday.
