The winter solstice has passed and, as we enjoy the days gradually getting longer and lighter, NAM is encouraging us to come together, unwind and listen. And, with the venue recently kitting out their sound system with Klipschorn 80s heritage speakers, the listening experience is totally unique to the restaurant.

NAM’s basement sessions will continue from Thursday through to Saturdays, with a diverse line-up of the best DJs from Manchester and beyond taking over the decks. Kicking off the month was Aletha, who brought blissed-out ambient and jazz, in its many forms, last Friday.

Aletha was followed by Ruf Dug on Saturday, who is predominantly known for melding balearica, street soul, 16-bit and everything in between.

The likes of Tim Giles, Zeyla, Contrast, Neil Diablo, Ty Abiodun, Tom Clarke will also be hosting basement sessions across the winter months. The new year marks the incredible brand-new NAM Residents team, too, which spans across all ages and genres.

Introducing; Abigail Ward, Acidhousedeathsquad, Aletha, Andrea Trout, Be With Records, Contours, Danuka + Yadava, FREAKout Collective, Levi Love, Sno and Kickin’ Pigeon.

This Monday NAM also launched its Monday Mix series. The series will include archive Basement Session sets plus never-heard-before exclusive mixes curated by the legendary Levi Love.

The beauty of the archive recordings is the calibre of sound quality captured from the audiophile system, for you to enjoy in the comfort of your own home. Levi’s contribution will include mixes from the likes of Manchester veterans, Mr Scruff, Krysko, James Holroyd and more to be revealed.

At its core the Winter of Listening invites you to slow down and immerse yourself in music and create new memories with loved ones. Mixes will be released every Monday from NAM’s Mixcloud and keep up to date with the music programme here.
