WINTER HERALDS the return of Manchester’s the North Pole bar, set to open once again at Cathedral Gardens (next to Urbis) from Thursday 3rd November, a cosy and luxurious winter haven for families and shoppers in the daytime and party-goers at night.

Bigger and better than ever before the bar will house 500 square metres of festive indulgence throughout three brand new bespoke rooms. The team have really gone to town on creating an opulent design that oozes style and sophistication. Additions include an a cosy new Chesterfield filled winter lodge, a contemporary ski chalet and the Rudolf Room, a decadent red velvet draped area for Christmas parties and winter film screenings. At capacity all the temporary venue holds almost 1000 people.

To keep out the cold the North Pole’s now legendary warming winter cocktails will return including the ever popular Winter Crumble and Manchester Mulled Wine. The cocktails are now supplemented by the full Illy Coffee range, who have also specially concocted some winter hot drinks meaning you can now toast the season with anything from a Mint Hot Chocolate to a Cinnamon Latte. In addition the bar will of course have a full selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks.

One of the additions will be a festive sausage swing grill to make sure guests can enjoy some hearty local produce. Christmas parties will be catered for with a choice of bespoke winter canapés or warming bowls of delicious food by local culinary impresarios Pickled Walnut.

Daytime family fun will be hosted by Parky, the Polar Bar’s 8ft polar bear. You can go to the Polar Bar photo booth which is brimming with winter props to ensure everyone has the perfect photo for the Christmas mantelpiece. You’ll also find fun and games for all the family from giant Connect Four to Giant Jenga.

As night descends atmospheric Polar Bar transforms into a hip venue dedicated to great music and good times and goes that extra mile to ensure a right festive shindig for all. Soon to be announced is a full programme of winter action – watch out for secret gigs, live events and some special celebrity guests – all with a quirky Polar Bar twist.

The North Pole bar is an Ear to the Ground production – the Manchester-based international event organisers who are responsible for Parklife, Pride and The Warehouse Project.
