Elnecot has been receiving great reviews from food critics, destination diners and local residents across the board. The verdict is unanimous that Elnecot offers up quality.

The neighbourhood bar and kitchen have now revealed their Spring Menu with some very interesting additions. Part of the ethos of Elnecot is to use seasonal and local produce which means as we now move into Spring, the menu will reflect this change in seasons.

The Elnecot Main Menu is split into Nibbles, Balls, Meat, Fish, Veg, Others and of course Afters.

A new addition to the Nibbles is “You Smelly H’apeth!” Saddleworth blue cheese and peanut parcels to sit alongside the summer herb focaccia with pea hummus or extra virgin rapeseed oil.

New Meat items on the menu include Manchester Pale Ale braised ox cheek, parsnip puree, salsa verde and pickled runners; Lancashire pulled pork arepas, Mrs Kirkham’s cheese, spiced plum salsa and coriander shoots; Spiced chicken fritters, creme fraiche and fried Lancashire duck egg; and Pork belly, savoy kimchi, smoked cannellini puree and hazelnuts.

Additions to the Fish section include pan-roasted hake, leek puree and samphire bhaji; Pan-fried mackerel, new potato salad and rhubarb ketchup; and Chalk stream trout croquettes, sorrel mayonnaise.

New Veg options include Roasted Spring Onions with romesco sauce; New potato salad with cured Lancashire duck egg yolk; and ‘Disco Cabbage’.

And not forgetting the afters with the addition of honey pannacotta, summer herb granita and berry consommé; rice pudding with Yorkshire forced rhubarb”; and a vegan chocolate mousse, summer berries and candied hazelnuts. Elnecot’s chocolate fondant stays on the menu and now includes a scoop of homemade Earl Grey ice cream.

The new Spring Menu is served 5 pm till 10 pm on Monday to Saturday and launches on Friday 4 May 2018.

This new Spring menu is in addition to the Sunday Roast Menu which has just received a glowing five-star review. The Sunday Roast menu lets you choose from Aged rib of beef, lemon and thyme butter-roasted chicken, crispy pork belly or vegan nut roast.

All roasts are served with a very healthy portion of trimmings; roast potatoes, Yorkshire pudding, pork and apricot stuffing, herb-roasted carrots & parsnips, sexy greens, squash puree, cauliflower cheese and a rich meat or vegan gravy.

All this for just £13.50 and £7 for a kid’s portion so there’s no need for the little ones to miss out on a cracking Sunday Roast. It’s what Sundays are made for. Sunday roasts are served from 1 pm.

But not forgetting the final piece of the foodie puzzle; The Elnecot Brunch.

Brunch offers an interesting array of dishes including Chia seed pudding, wild mushrooms on toast, green eggs and sam (salmon!), stuffed pancakes, smashed broccoli hummus with whipped Lancashire cheese on sourdough, slow-cooked Elnecot pork belly with poached eggs and of course eggs any way on sourdough toast.

And with Bottomless fizz for £15 or a variety of handcrafted bottomless cocktails for £20 including a Breakfast Negroni and Espresso Martini, there’s no reason to not pop in at the weekend too.

Brunch is served on Saturday 11 am till 3 pm and Sunday 11 am till 1 pm.
