William Shakespeare might have said that music is the food of love, but in my opinion, food is the food of love, and nothing makes my heart beat faster than sharing several delicious courses of Indian food with that special someone.

With this in mind, I will be spending my Valentine’s Day at Zouk Tea Bar, just off Oxford Road, which is home to a stunning tasting menu of Indian dishes with a romantic twist.

Available from 14th– 16th February, this menu costs just £30 per person and will provide you with enough food to keep you going until the end of the month, in true Indian style.

Kick things off with a Pani Puri Shot as a little amuse bouche. This is a puffed rice shell filled with flavour which explodes in your mouth upon eating.

Next will be Oyster Pakoras. Known as an aphrodisiac, oysters are certainly going to get you in the mood for love, and these will be delicious too after being lightly fried in pakora batter and served with apple and coriander.

Next up is the starters where you can choose between Kashmiri Murg Kebabs with nuts spices and rose petals, Spicy Prawn Pakoras or the beautifully traditional Samosa Chaat which is perfect for sharing.

You will then choose one of the main courses each, which means you can choose two and share – because who wants just one curry?! There is the Chicken Xacuti – a cheeky little Goan curry made with poppy seeds, red chilli and lemon for a bit of tang.

There is also the Dahi ka Dungara Gosht made with smoky lamb, mint and yoghurt. Vegetarians are not left out either with the Dall Makhani made with black lentils, cream and spices.

Finally, you will share a divine platter of desserts which consists of a luxurious Crème Brulee and a delicious Double Chocolate Brownie – because the only thing better than oysters is chocolate for getting you in the mood.

All that food for just £30 – which means this is more than just a delicious and romantic menu, but also the bargain of the year! Fly forth love-birds, this year you are falling in love at Zouk.

What’s more is when you dine with Zouk this Valentines you could be in with a chance of winning a brunch for you and your loved one. All you have to do is take a snap of your evening and pop it on Instagram using the hashtag #HowWeMetAtZouk for a chance to win. Good luck!
