Freight Island announces 2024 summer season with Crazy P and Hot Chip DJ sets and new food vendors

it's back, and just in time for Easter

Freight Island is all set to reopen for the 2024 spring and summer seasons, with a host of top tier DJ sets, new food vendors and festival events.

After its winter break, it will open its doors on March 29, in time for the Easter weekend.

Heading the bill will be DJs including Alexis Taylor from Hot Chip, Crazy P, David Rodigan, garage godfather Todd Edwards, Norman Jay, Maurice Fulton, Greg Wilson and Huey Morgan.

Parties will also be hosted by the likes of Optimo, Luke Una’s É Soul Cultura, Supernature Disco, Sticky Heat, Me Gusta, Sit N Bun, Semi Skimmed Edits, Stockport’s SK1 Records and hit pop night Cherrybomb.

Further sets over the spring and summer will come from the likes of Abigail Ward, Andrea Trout, Ellen Beth Abdi, Ghosts of Garage, Groovement, Joey T, Joy Social, Lil Minx, Metrodome, Mikey D.O.N, Rich Reason and Ruby Swallow.

All parties will be free – though some will require advance tickets.

On the food side of things, it will be welcoming in new vendor Patterson’s from Liverpool, who’ll be bringing their signature 24-hour brined fried chicken.

Resident traders, Burgerism, Voodoo Ray’s, Lazy Tony’s Lasagnaria, Payal, Mega Gyros, Mia’s Arepas, Fuku, Smoking Coal and Oh My Cheesecake will be back for another season.

Seconds carvery will also be serving up every Sunday, along with mass karaoke parties and creative workshops.

Freight Island opens from Friday 29 March, on Thursdays from 4pm until 11pm, Fridays from 4pm until 12am, Saturdays from 12pm until 12am, and Sundays from 12pm until 10pm.
