For all you hawk-eyed people in the city, you may have spotted something going down behind the shutters under the arches on Church Street.
Nestled in the heart of the NQ is the new kid on the block, Dust Dogs. The lovely lot down at Northern Soul have transformed their old spot into a Hot Dog joint – with a dive bar feel.
The mysterious name, ‘Dust Dogs’, was inspired by the building the new food shack resides in itself. It should have been demolished, hence the dust, yet has had a renaissance in the form of a hotdog hotspot.
Featuring a heavy smattering of some stellar paintwork giving vibes similar to that of a 1980s New York subway and fitting in perfectly with the dive atmosphere, the place now looks entirely unrecognisable (in the best way possible).
With indoor seating and a well-stocked bar staring you in the face as soon as you enter, get ready to watch the chefs grill everything right there in front of you.
As for the stars of the show, Dust Dogs proudly use 100% beef in their hotdogs and natural beef casings, giving them a premium feel while still being a traditional dirty hotdog – perfect to be washed back by a frosty cold beer.
Serving up batches of joy and staying true to their doughnut flour bread rolls, Dust Dogs also offer 100% plant-based hot dogs and their hotdog buns are completely vegan!
In terms of booze, Dust Dogs are stocking some killer East Coast American beers in-store to keep up the dive bar vibes, as well as a couple of great beers from Beavertown Brewery on tap.
Beer not for you? They’ve also got loads of cocktails on offer including their signature bev, the Beerita, which is essentially a margarita topped up with Modelo.
Whether you pop in for some lunch break grub or a post-work drink – Dust Dogs is definitely one to look out for this season.

Dust Dogs is open from Wednesday – Sunday from 12pm – 10pm operating as a bar as well as somewhere you can just jump in and grab a hotdog on the go.
