Campfield and GRUB have announced the launch of Campfield Market, a new weekly market experience opening in Manchester’s St. John’s neighbourhood on 8 November 2025.
The collaboration will see the historic Campfield campus transformed every Saturday from 10am to 4pm into a large-scale city market celebrating independent food, drink and retail. Spread across all three of Campfield’s Grade II-listed buildings, the event will be three times the size of this summer’s Weekender events, which drew thousands to the newly redeveloped spot on Liverpool Road.
Developed by Allied London and operated by Department, Campfield is now home to production studios, workspaces and tech start-ups. The new market reopens the site to the public, restoring its original purpose as a hub for culture, commerce and community.
GRUB, Manchester’s independent street food specialist, will oversee and curate the market. The team brings a decade of experience in supporting local traders and delivering sustainable, community-led events.

Jason Bailey, GRUB’s Director, said: “GRUB is back in Manchester city centre with Campfield Market, a weekly prestige market experience that’s three times bigger than anything we’ve done before. Manchester has been crying out for a proper market experience and we hope the city can get behind this ambitious new destination in the most amazing location.”
Beneath Campfield’s glass roof, up to 50 hand-picked artisans will showcase art, collectibles and handmade produce, with an evolving line-up each week. Campfield Studios will introduce Manchester’s first Euro-style food hall, featuring Estrella Galicia, a European wine bar and 12 high-quality food stalls serving oysters, tapas, sourdough, cheese, sushi and charcuterie.
Meanwhile, Castlefield House will act as the market’s social hub, offering dumplings, pizza, bratwurst, paella, poke bowls and coffee, alongside an outdoor produce market complete with greengrocer, butcher and fishmonger.
Jack Ingall, Allied London’s Commercial Creative Executive, said: “Re-activating Campfield Market is a major step in our long-term vision for St. John’s, creating a lively, connected neighbourhood where enterprise, culture, living and entertainment come together.”
Abigail Chew, Department’s Operations Director, added: “Activating Campfield in this way truly brings our vision for a multi-use campus to life. It’s amazing to see how these buildings can evolve, operating as a home for creative work during the week, then transforming every weekend into Manchester’s biggest city market.”
Campfield Market will open every Saturday from 10am to 4pm at Campfield, Liverpool Road, Manchester M3 4FP.
