…(and of course it’s in Ancoats!)

Since bursting onto the Street Food scene a couple of years back, the gang at Hip Hop Chip Shop have found a home where ever they could – including a long stint in the kitchen at Kosmonaut, as well as a sizeable stint at Media City.

Well fans of fish and chips (and hip-hop) can rejoice as they’ve opened up a proper bit of bricks and mortar in Sawmill Court in Ancoats and the fryers are on full blast.

You’ll be pleased to know that the menu is extensive, featuring many of the dishes that ensured that they’ve always been nominated for awards (and won a few).

There’s the classic Feastie Boys; battered fish biters with chunky skin on chips, mushy peas and tartare sauce, alongside the frankly brilliant DJ Kool Jerk; a jerk battered fish that comes with a side of battered plantain and scotch bonnet pickle pepper.

There really is something for every taste, including vegan and veggie options. Oh, and anyone that offers Battered Bacon on their menu clearly have their heads screwed on.
