I absolutely bloody love Kong’s Chicken Shop. When we popped down at their temporary collection spot at CBRB in April I was bowled over with the sheer quality of what they had on offer, and putting crispy chicken skin in the sandwich – an inspired move.
Since then they’ve been to a few venues around the city, most recently setting up shop in Northern Monk Refectory over the weekends and delighting us all once again with their very own version of the Fried Chicken Roast Dinner.
Well, word has reached my ears that Kong’s have found a new home in the city centre, as they’re about to set up shop in popular café and brunch spot Foundation Coffee House on Portland Street.
Taking over the space from Wednesday – Sunday between 5pm and 10pm – Kong’s will be operating a proper sit down concept, alongside booze and cocktails from Foundation.
So you’ll now have a spot in which to get your outstanding fried chicken fix, and you’ll also be able to sit down for one of their sublime Roast Dinners on a Sunday too.
There’s rumours of an ice cream menu on the way also, which may or may not be paired with fried chicken. These rumours are unsubstantiated as of yet though so best to just watch this space!

Kong’s Chicken Shop will be opening at Foundation Portland Street from Thursday 26th August.
