Tradition not your jam? We have just the thing for you this Christmas.

Personally, I love a full-blown Gourdy Christmas, with tinsel, Frank Sinatra and sprouts. But I am aware that some members of the Manchester’s Finest team, I’m not naming any names, couldn’t think of anything worse.

I don’t understand why people have to be so grouchy, but with that being said, seeing the Xmas overhaul at Manchester’s hottest contemporary Chinese restaurant, I may just have changed my tune.Tattu is the ideal alternative location for any festive celebration, with its winter a la carte and seasonal sharing menus that guarantee a dining experience like no other.

Swap pigs in blankets for delicious, moreish Peking duck bon bons, and the usual roast turkey for succulent fillet steak and caramel soy, or tender honey-roasted char sui pork. Forget the traditional Christmas pudding and instead indulge with a rich, spiced orange chocolate fondant or the delicate baked lotus flower.

For an elegant private dining experience, the Tattu Parlour can seat up to 40 guests for dining or up to 80 for a drinks and canapé reception. The room is entirely exclusive, accessed by its entrance, with a private bar, restrooms and a performance booth for DJs or other entertainment.

For New Year’s Eve, Tattu will be celebrating the best of 2017 with a 3-course sharing menu of signature favourites from the year, including half a bottle of Drappier Carte d’Or Brut Champagne for £99 per person. Tables can be reserved from 12 pm lunchtime through until 11 p.m., with a host of unique performances, DJs and more from 8 pm to ensure you will welcome 2018 in style.

With all that in mind, all that is left to be said is bah-bloody-humbug and a happy new year.
