Vegan Salfordians are in for a treat this May, as The Salford Vegan Market will take over Greengate Square, right in the heart of the town, for a weekend of vegan street food, bakes, crafts and clothing!
Arriving in the city for the very first time, the Vegan Market Co ran its first event back in 2016 and has quickly grown to now cover over 40 locations across the UK. They showcase the very best of the country’s ethical and sustainable produce and make it their mission to make veganism accessible to all carnivores and herbivores alike.
The event will feature a variety of delicious, local vegan street food, artisan bakes, craft cheeses, handmade cosmetics, ethical clothing and jewellery, arts and crafts and charity stalls. All created by a handpicked selection of talented, ethical and sustainable businesses. There’ll also be gluten free options available, too!
Lewis Beresford, Vegan Market Co’s Founder said: “We are so excited to be in Salford for the first time. We work hard to find the country’s leading vegan producers, from street food vendors and bakers to ethical clothing and cosmetic producers, so it’ll be exciting to showcase this in the city.
“We also work with many local businesses and can’t wait to give all of these fantastic producers the platform they deserve and introduce them to the wonderful people of Salford!”
Previous markets have seen independent businesses such as Saving Nemo Vegan Food, Project Donut, Pomodoro E Basilico and Miss T’s Vegan Patties all serve plant-based takes on delicious street food.
The Vegan Market Co are also proud to be tackling the climate crisis by promoting sustainable lifestyle choices with their events and supporting tree planting and conservation projects around the world. In addition to offsetting the carbon footprint from each event, they also plant a tree for every business that takes part.
The Salford Vegan Market will be held at Greengate Square and will run from 10:30 to 16:00 on Saturday 7th May.
