Carnival, Escape to Freight Island’s latest innovative addition, is a collaboration concept from award-winning chef, Richard Turner, offering quality and fine cut meats, from Premium Rib, Porterhouse, T-Bone Steak and Pork Chop as part of a traditional Sunday roast.
Every Sunday, Escape to Freight Island will host Carnival, where guests can enjoy a choice of two or three courses, with an array of starters to pick from, including; Charcoal Grilled Asparagus with Horseradish Sauce and Hazelnut Aillade, Chargrilled Squid with Kosho & Rocket, or Braised Pigs Head Crumpet with Honey & Clove.
The Sunday Roast main options include; Slow Roast Rump of Aged Beef, Herdwick Slow Roast Lamb, or Mrs Kirkhams Cheese & Onion Pie. Each roast is accompanied with all the trimmings including glazed carrots, the finest spring greens, Yorkshire puddings, roast potatoes and are topped with Carnival’s signature Houses of Parliament & Madeira gravy.
There are also some delectable dessert options to finish off your Sunday treat, featuring Sticky Toffee Pudding with Toffee Sauce and Clotted Cream; Cambridge Burnt Cream with Rhubarb and Mrs Kirkhams Cheese Pasty with Apple and Tamarind.
Additional sides and starters from the full Carnival menu are also available to order, paired with the finest cocktails, beers and wine on offer from Escape to Freight Island.
One course will cost you £19, two-courses comes in at £25 and it’s £30 for three. For those with big appetites, ‘THE BEAST’ Porterhouse or T-Bone roast is available for a minimum of two people, priced at £20pp.
Carnival Roast at Escape to Freight Island is available every Sunday from 12pm to 6pm. Booking in advance is recommended to secure a preferred time, but there’ll be plenty of room for walk-ups, too.
In conjunction with Escape to Freight Island’s new Sunday Roast offerings, the venue also presents ‘Better Days’, an all-day Sunday FREE festival series running all-summer-long. The series will see a collection of renowned DJs and local legends, plus a host of collectives take over the festival-inspired outside space.
