From wholesome walks to intriguing cocktail and costume parties, via live music and murder mysteries – if you don’t already have Manchester Halloween plans, you do now.

The monsters are back! Halloween In The City prepares to once again take over Manchester’s shopping streets with a colourful monster rooftop invasion and frighteningly fun activities scattered all over town. From pumpkin lanterns in the trees to free, live performances and the huge parade, there’s something for everyone across the seven-day celebration. Hosted by Manchester City Centre Business Improvement District, families are urged to go all out with their Halloween costumes and take part in the UK’s biggest city centre Halloween celebration, filled with larger-than-life entertainment and unmissable spooky spectacles.

Halloween at Quarry Bank

Things get spooky at Quarry Bank this October as they open a new Halloween trail for 2025. Produced by the same team as Christmas at Dunham Massey, Halloween at Quarry Bank returns with a spine-tingling night of thrills, chills, and glowing surprises. From Thursday 23 October to Saturday 1 November, join family and friends to wander from dusk into darkness and remember, the darker it gets, the spookier it gets. Prepare to face glowing fire spheres, catacombs with whispers of the past, a mesmerising laser garden and a thrilling fire show by daring performers.

The 13.1-mile course is one of the toughest half marathons in the country, with a hilly route attracting running clubs, charities, businesses and locals every year. Merseyday of the Dead

Stockport is set to come alive with spooky celebrations on Saturday 25 October as the town transforms into a vibrant carnival at Merseyway and Redrock for the ‘Merseyday of the Dead’ (very good). Inspired by the traditions of Dia de los Muertos and blended with a sprinkle of Halloween mischief, the event will be filled with free family-friendly fun, from dazzling trick-or-treat trails to sugar skull crafts, glitter makeovers, parades, games and a disco for dancing skeletons of all ages.

Now in its third year, Diecast has become one of the city’s essential party destinations – an industrial nightlife wonderland between Piccadilly and Ancoats – and this Halloween, they’re going all out. Club Leno transforms into an electrified graveyard rave, shadowy figures, morbid ghouls and tormented spirits from beyond the grave, while the Brooklyn Beer Hall becomes a monster-filled mash-up of comedy and carnage, step into a world of monster movie madness. FENIX will transform into a Halloween River Styx event, taking inspiration from the mythological river in the Greek Underworld, forming a boundary between the world of the living and the dead. DJs will set the scene, weaving soundscapes to guide guests to the celebration. This will continue on Saturday 1 November with the Moonlight Party Event, a Greek Supper Club experience which will kick off at 10pm promising an after-dark celebration of music, energy and hedonism, complete with spectacular cocktails and plate smashing in true Aegean style.
