I think most people at some point or another have thought about getting into Street Food. I know I have. Lots of times.
I enjoy cooking, I enjoy eating and I enjoy making (and then spending) money. And after 3 years of writing about and meeting many of the city's street food success stories - I've always thought I would like to give it a go.
Well, perhaps now is the time for me to give it a go as street food experts GRUB are set to launch the 'School of GRUB' - a 100% FREE 6 week programme of live, practical workshops with some of the city's biggest and best street food stars.
At the moment, during the national lockdown and the worst year ever for hospitality, many have discovered that smaller, more flexible operations are the ones that are able to continue and thrive, and thus street food offers up more opportunities without the need for bricks and mortar locations.
With years of experience of working with the city's best street food traders, GRUB are perfectly positioned to help and offer support for anyone looking to get in on the scene - and thus the School of GRUB is a chance to "help Manchester food folk bounce back and help people into street food."
The programme kicks off on Wednesday 3rd February, with live, interactive workshops which will give practical advice on the first steps of starting a street food business, branding, social media, menu design, promotion, getting gigs, legal requirements and much more with existing traders on hand to answer your questions and provide very honest advice.
Completely FREE and open to everyone, there will be six weeks of workshops delivered alongside group mentoring via online discussion groups, helping people to take their first steps, as well as allowing experienced industry types get involved in events.
