Iconic city centre restaurant 20 Stories is bringing back its famous Blackout Dinner on Sunday 30th January in collaboration with Monkey 47 Gin.

The highest restaurant in Manchester will appear in complete darkness with thousands of candles and the lights of the Manchester skyline acting as the only source of light throughout the evening.

Upon arrival, guests will be welcomed with a bespoke Monkey 47 Gin cocktail and will then indulge in an exclusive four-course seasonal menu.

Among the culinary highlights of the Blackout Dinner Menu is a Goats’ Cheese Mousse with poached pear, kohlrabi, chicory and walnut, plus Pan-fried Sea Bream with Jerusalem artichoke & truffle orzo, wild mushroom, chicken, and chive butter.

The main course will be an exquisite Leven Farm Duck Breast with beetroot, kale, spiced butter, and miso sauce. Dessert will be a Chocolate Dome served with honeycomb and warm caramel sauce.

Following a sell-out in 2020, the event is returning for its third year with an exclusive menu created by 20 Stories kitchen team, with a selection of the finest wines to match, chosen by Head Sommelier Ivan Milchev.

20 Stories Sales and Marketing Manager Becky Wilkes said:

“Plunging our restaurant into complete darkness promises to be an unforgettable evening. Since launching the Blackout Dinner, it has been a favourite in our calendar and following a hugely successful sell out event in October, we are really looking forward to hosting what promises to be another incredible evening.”
