Yep, there’s a ‘Dining in the Dark‘ event coming to Manchester! After pretty much every single city in the world has had one – one finally comes to us. And it’s not too far off either – Thursday 13th August in fact.
In case you’ve missed the whole ‘thing’, Dining in the Dark is basically a restaurant experience where you can’t see anything that you’re eating – because you’ll be wearing a bloody blindfold. Apparently we all eat with our eyes, so with that sense eliminated, taste and smell as supposed to be enhanced beyond comprehension.
I’ve never actually been to one, but I’ve always wanted to give it a go. My wife did one last year and she said that it was amazing – and you really could taste and smell much, much more than usual.
Festoon House Lighting
In terms of dishes, they’re obviously not going to tell you what’s on the menu but you’ll have a choice of 3 options;
Green (Vegan)
Starter: Soft and crispy come together in fresh, delightful bites
Main: Its strong Asian flavours will catch your senses by surprise
Dessert: Mother Nature’s greatest gifts, coupled with a taste of the Caribbean
Blue (Seafood)
Starter: Land and sea unite to give you a taste of Thailand
Main: Tropical flavours wash up on the shore, giving the ocean a crisp, fruity spark of flavour
Dessert: Flavours you know and love presented in surprising textures
Red (Meat)
Starter: A crispy gift from Thailand packed to the brim with flavour
Main: An Eastern combination of sweet and savoury that will make your mind spin
