The Beyond Burger is the world’s first plant-based burger made from pea protein. It has all the qualities of beef – the smell, taste, texture and behaviour of a real beef burger, only it is 100% vegan.

This magic burger even ‘bleeds’ when cooked which means it is the perfect middle ground for someone going vegan or wanting to cut down on their meat intake.

What’s more, it is packed with 20g of plant-based protein and has no GMOs, soy or gluten– which means it is SO much better for you than a real burger.

At Beyond Meat, the makers of this vegan burger, they believe there is a better way to feed the planet. Their mission is to create “The Future of Protein”;  shifting from animal, to plant-based meat, to are create a savoury solution that solves four growing issues attributed to livestock production.

In turn, this would have a lasting effect on human health, climate change, constraints on natural resources and animal welfare. Leonardo DiCaprio, Bill Gates and Richard Branson have all invested in Beyond Meat  – it really is the future.

There’s never been a better excuse for a #meatfreemonday!  Weather you are vegan, vegetarian or just curious to see if you can tell the difference, pop in and try one at Zouk this week.
