Tech house dons Solardo are swapping huge festivals such as Tomorrowland, Glastonbury, Creamfields and Parklike to play an intimate show on home ground.
The free gig will act as the launch for ‘The Drop’ a new charity event series by Headstock and Skiddle created to raise money for charities supporting the mental health of people working within the music industry.
Taking place on World Mental Health Day – Thursday 10 October (6-9pm) – Solardo will be supported by Shimrise, one of the most exciting electronic breakthrough acts on the Manchester house scene. There are only 300 tickets available for this free event (capped at two per person) and will be allocated on a first come, first saved basis.
Voluntary donations to Music Minds Matter at check-out on Skiddle and on the door at The Yard.
All proceeds from the event will be split equally between mental health charity, Music Minds Matter, and Manchester-based music & mental health social enterprise, Headstock.
Solardo said: “We can’t wait to come home to Manchester on World Mental Health Day to help launch The Drop. It will be a very special gig and we’re really looking forward to playing such an intimate show on home turf.
“We’re proud to have been asked by Headstock & Skiddle to kick off this exciting new event – and are delighted to be supporting such an important cause. More than any other genre, house music has the power to ignite feelings of euphoria and joy. We know first hand how music can elevate your mood and we hope that our set will help bring happiness to anyone listening.”
