Now in its seventh year, the This Is Manchester Awards shine a light on the best of the best in the region, with categories representing the night-time economy, entertainment, arts and culture, technology, live events and fashion.
The full shortlist reads like a Mancunian who’s who and features huge names from individuals to charities and businesses. This year’s standouts include Manchester fashion powerhouse Nadine Merabi, Carl Morris, founder of sustainable clothing initiative Cress, chef Zisis Giannouras of Fenix and loads more.
Restaurants, bars and hotels from across the world of hospitality have all received nominations, including newcomers MAYA and Fenix, chicken legends Yard & Coop, Italian faves San Carlo and Northern Quarter speakeasy The Fitzgerald. Adding to that, many individuals and organisations are nominated for making marked contributions to the fabric of the city and beyond.
Manchester’s very own Corella will return for a special live performance at this year’s ceremony, brining their blend of indie pop and emotive lyrics to the AO Arena stage.
Organisers have also announced that the recipient of this year’s Outstanding Contribution To Sport Award will go to Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola. The rest of this year’s winners will be announced at the ceremony at AO Arena on Thursday 14 November and will be hosted by Jenny Powell, Scott Thomas and Brooke Vincent.
