Taking over The Refuge this weekend, The Playhouse Project’s Family Ball is transporting guests straight back to the baggy era of acid house with a child-friendly Hacienda rave.

Soundtracked by legendary DJ and Hacienda royalty, John DaSilva, he’ll be joined by the Cequin Circus’ roster of performers who will bring unique routines and originality to the early Christmas party.

Jon DaSilva is one of the original Haçienda residents DJs and a true pioneer in the UK house music scene. His career has spanned three decades beginning in what many consider to be the most important and influential club of its generation, Fac 51 The Hacienda. Guests will be dancing to Hacienda classics, alongside Detroit and Chicago House.

The event is returning to city centre venue, The Refuge, that will undoubtedly be full of glitz and glamour. The party will take over Kimpton Clock Tower Ballroom located within the hotel, inviting families along to the grand and unique space to dance and create.

The Conker Crew are also bringing all the festive fun, through a range of lovely free play activities aimed at 2 – 10 year olds.

Kids can get busy creating festive themed art at their nature-based creation stations; wooden disc tree decorations, festive clay pinch pots, mini wreath workshops, and stick stars and festive lanterns. Alternatively they can relax with new friends at the themed mud kitchen free play sessions.

Alongside this there’ll be multi-sensory sessions, festive disco queen performers, special lighting and visuals, hoop workshops, giant balloons, inflatables, face painting and, of course, snow machines.

Dress code: Sparkles and glamour encouraged!
