Tegan McLeod and Claudia Mirallegro, who teach at some of Manchester’s favourite yoga studios: from BLOK to YogaSoul and Hero Training Clubs, have teamed up to take a group of 20 yogi’s to Greece this October.
From October 19th-26th, students are invited to stay at Lefkada’s luxury retreat centre, nestled on a hilltop and set across 3 luxurious villas, each with it’s own infinity pool.
Within the villa’s grounds, there is an abundance of natural space, including mediterranean gardens with ancient olive trees to meditate amongst, multiple terraces and the gift of being 5 minutes walk from the beach.
Alongside indoor and outdoor yoga shalas and ceremonial spaces, you’ll find large family style kitchens, therapy rooms, shady lounges and gorgeous communal eating spaces.
This retreat marks an opportunity for connection, serenity and deep restoration, after a challenging two years of lockdowns and movement restrictions.
Students will be guided to integrate and let go of the transitions from past years by immersing themselves in a beautiful autumnal retreat on Greece’s Lefkada island. Through movement, contemplation and community, yogi’s—from beginners to advanced practitioners—will have time to slow down and re-earth—to taste and delight in the natural world around them.
By experiencing a variety of self-love practices, the group will be given the tools to come home to themselves, unlocking and rejoicing in their own hidden powers, letting go of what they don’t need, and gaining a more authentic awareness of their soul’s path forwards.
A day at the retreat will feature mornings of Embodied Vinyasa, where one can explore the dynamic shapes and mobility within one’s body, stimulating the relationship between flow and stability, grace and strength, softness and bravery.
Following class, there will be a large, nourishing breakfast, using local, seasonal ingredients to create a delicious, varied and healing vegan menu. As the sun wanes into the afternoon, the group will be encouraged to explore the beaches, nearby villages, follow one of the hiking trails or enjoy a relaxing rest by one of the pools.
In the late afternoon, things will slow down with Yin or Yoga Nidra before enjoying a hearty family dinner to detoxify the body with healthy, inspiring recipes curated to compliment all movement sessions.
Before we slip into bed, there will be meditation sessions and breath work. Facial massage will be on offer throughout the week, lead by one of Manchester’s wellness leaders, Ksenija Selivanova (@the_moments)—bringing self care to a whole new level of “soul care”.
One half of the leadership team is Tegan McLeod. She is a 500hr certified Yoga Instructor (since 2014). By infusing Vinyasa and Yin Yoga elements, Tegan creates an immediate connection with one’s Higher Self.
Her vision is one of healing and empowerment—for all bodies, all abilities, all backgrounds. Having taught yoga and creative writing extensively in the United States, from Texas to New York, she now resides and teaches in our beautiful Manchester.
Her deepest desire is for her students to nurture a genuine and revolutionary kind of awareness of their own power—and be able to take this kind of self-justice off the mat into the rest of their world.
And Claudia makes the partnership whole. Claudia Mirallegro is an international yoga and meditation teacher and it is through her classes and online platform that she helps uplift, inspire, and empower her community.
Claudia learned that her internal compass was grounded in her ability to self-regulate with movement and music. Driven by a sense of connection to spirituality, she immersed herself in different rituals, mindfulness training and cathartic practices, unknowingly seeding the foundation for her teachings and world-wide retreats – where her highest hope is that students leave feeling more alive, more awake, and more connected to themselves and their true essence.
