A collection of female-run and founded companies are hosting a one off virtual International Women’s Day event inspired by the Free The Nipple movement to help raise awareness on how to check the health of breasts/chests, and to simultaneously promote body confidence in a fun and educational environment.

An article from The Guardian uploaded in 2020 states that one in six women have received unwanted sexual attention while breastfeeding in public. The sexual exploitation and objectification of women’s bodies remains to be a massive issue in today’s society and to tie into this year’s International Women’s Day theme –  Choose To Challenge, DesignMyNightCoppaFeel!CULT Milk and Warner’s Gin have come together to host a virtual event called Free The Tipple that taps into the Free The Nipple movement in a fun and informative space.

The online celebration will kick off with a 15-minute segment from CoppaFeel!; the first UK breast cancer charity to create awareness amongst young people. The charity aims to encourage people to regularly check their breasts and chests.

A representative from the organisation (also known as a Boobette) will talk about their own personal journey with breast cancer, bust common myths alongside showcasing a short video which demonstrates how to check your breasts thoroughly. An optional donation will be available via tickets on DesignMyNight for anyone who would like to show extra support.

The virtual talk will then be taken over by Tina Warner-Keogh, co-founder of Warner’s Distillery. The farm-based distillers amazing gins, 0% spirits and rum are crafted with nature, with sustainability and giving back at the heart of everything they do.

All ticket holders will receive an award-winning G&T kit delivered to their door containing everything they’ll need to make two double gin and tonics (with Fever Tree mixers) or their delicious 0% Botanic Garden Spirits for anyone looking for a non-alcoholic alternative.

Tina will touch on her experience in the gin industry and will discuss the various gins sent out in the post. Attendees will also be gifted a 20% discount for Warner’s Farm Shop in a follow up email after the event.

The third and final part of the evening will be a fun nipple tassel workshop lead by CULT Milk founder, Amy Brown. The company – who has worked with many big brands in the past and has made many festival appearances, specialises in creative and empowering workshops, and will virtually bring that creative and upbeat energy to people’s homes across the country on 8th March.

Like Warner’s, Amy’s team will send out a special DIY kit in the post with all materials needed to make a matching pair of nipple tassels during the craft part of the evening.

The event, which has limited tickets available and will come off sale on Monday 1st March, is intent on highlighting the importance of freeing the nipple, looking after your body with regular checks and being comfortable in your own skin.
