As we all watch in horror at the events unfolding in Ukraine at the moment, we’re left wondering what we can do to help.

There are numerous fundraisers that you can donate to across social media, as well as food and clothing donations points at various locations across the city, but some of Manchester’s hospitality giants are also doing what they can to urgently help those affected.

The ICRC respond to the humanitarian needs of those affected by the conflict, and help get food, medicine, shelter and water to those who need it most, and GRUB are hosting an event on Wednesday 9th March to raise funds for the committee.

“We are throwing everything we have at this night to raise as much money as we can, as soon as possible. Whether you’d like to donate, partake or simply attend, we’d love to see you there,” said Event Organiser, Ellie Garfield-Ford.

The conflict in Ukraine is invading and destroying the lives of innocent people, and this is one way you can help.

GRUB have asked partnering businesses to help and have already been pledged beer and prizes from many breweries across the city, including; Squawk Brewing Co, Beatnikz Republic, Left Hand Giant Brewing, Manchester Union Lager, Runaway Brewery, Neon Raptor Brewing Company and Vocation Brewery. 100% of the turnover from these drinks will be donated, alongside free entertainment and performances to encourage donations.

GRUB is also calling out for DJs, solo artists, bands, traders, entertainers and volunteers to get involved. For those who would like to take part please get in touch at info@grubmcr.com.

The fundraiser will run 6pm-late and donations are encouraged – please note the majority of the donation points will be cash buckets, so please bring along change so that enough money can be collected to make the biggest difference to the crisis.

You can keep an eye out on GRUB’s social media pages and website as they’ll be updated as line-ups are confirmed.

There will be entertainment for both adults and children, as well a raffle brimming with prizes donated from partnering brands. The event aims to bring together the community of Manchester to raise money and support this important cause.
