Set up in the utopian former shipping container district of Ancoats’ Pollard Yard, you’ll find Le Social a laid-back, sustainable wine bar with a focus on natural producers and paired small plates.
Coinciding with pride month this year, the venue is hosting an aestival, alfresco dining evening alongside DJ Hattie Pearson and Suppher, an inclusive supper club hosted by Anna Søgaard and Kim McBride.
Kicking off at 6pm on Friday 5th August, Anna will serve up a range of snacks and small plates, some of which will be cooked on a traditional Japanese yakitori grill, that will then be paired with hand-picked, female-produced natural wines chosen by Kim.
Suppher began after Anna and Kim met whilst working at Erst back in 2019. Both passionate feminists, they wanted to use their skills to raise money for charities supporting women. Their events are safe and inclusive, providing a place where women’s talents are showcased and important women’s issues are discussed.
Hits Radio DJ and Girls on Film organiser, Hattie will also be on hand to provide an eclectic mix of summer tunes throughout the evening until late and all profits made on the night will be donated to the LGBT Foundation.
Established back in 1975, the LGBT Foundation has campaigned and fought for the rights of the LGBTQ+ community for over 40 years. It’s an international charity with firm roots in its hometown of Greater Manchester, serving more people than any other charity of its kind in the UK.
It aims to work together with the local community and businesses to change LGBT lives for the better, securing a safer, healthier and more equal future for all LGBTQ+ people.
Tickets for Suppher x Le Social’s Pride Fundraiser are on sale now for £15 per person and also include a welcome drink on arrival. Capacity is limited as things are kept cosy and intimate at Le Social, so cancellations or no shows will not qualify for a refund.
