Awarded annually, the UK Festival Awards are back in Manchester this year for a huge event at Escape to Freight Island on Tuesday 6th December.

For 2022, a number of Manchester festivals are in the running to win big across the evening, which serves as the only fully festival focused awards ceremony in the UK.

Categories span Best Large Festival, Best Medium Sized Festival, Best Small Festival, Best New Festival, Best Non-Music Festival, Best Metropolitan Festival, The Grassroots Festival Award and Best Overseas Festival.

Up for Best Large Festival are Manchester Pride and Parklife, the festival that takes over Heaton Park every summer with a constantly evolving line-up of dance music greats.

In the Best Medium Sized Festival category, Macclesfield’s Bluedot, Lightopia, Neighbourhood Festival and Warehouse Project’s Repercussion event are up for the coveted accolade against the likes of Y Not Festival, Kendal Calling and Latitude.

Known for having some of the best small festivals in the country, Manchester dominates this category, too, with Manchester Adored, Neighbourhood Festival and Salford’s Sounds From the Other City all up for The Best Small Festival award!

You’ll also find Lightopia, Manchester Adored, Repercussion and Tatton Park in the Best New Festival category, alongside Bluedot and Tatton Park Pop-Up in the Best Family Festival nominees.

The Best Metropolitan Festival recognises one of the more significant changes in the festival landscape over the last few years, going to the festival that most convincingly made a city its own.

The Manchester-based nominees in this category are Lightopia, Manchester Adored, Manchester Pride, Neighbourhood Festival, Parklife, Repercussion, Sound City and Sounds From The Other City – all very worthy winners!

The winners will be announced at the ceremony that takes place at Escape to Freight Island on Tuesday 6th December. You can cast your votes for the winner of each category below.
