Wrap Up UK have launched their annual winter initiative to help homeless and vulnerable people across Manchester.

Founded by Human Appeal, they’re asking for support to collect as many warm coats for people in need as possible as the cold and wet weather sets in.

The goal of the annual collection is to redistribute as many warm winter coats to vulnerable people across the city as possible.

The project was first started in 2011 and has since distributed over 220,000 coats across the UK via homeless shelters, refugee centres and organisations supporting the elderly, children’s centres and other charities helping those in crisis.

Volunteers will be at Piccadilly Station on 21 and 22 October to collect any donations that are in good condition and clean.

You can also drop coats off at the House of Books and Friends on King Street between 145 and 25 October.

The bookshop and cafe also operates a pay-it-forward scheme, where customers can come in, buy a coffee or a book, and it will be paid forward to someone in need.
