Leaf has opened on Portland Street in Manchester and what a fantastic addition to the city it is.
The team have headed down the M62 and brought with them everything I like about their Liverpool Bold Street venue, the only thing missing is accent. I must say though, and not because I’m biased, but I do prefer the set-up of Leaf Manchester over the original. Casual, calm and collected during the lunch period / early afternoon, with a great looking fit-out and staff that have relocated to carry over that Leaf on Bold Street personality.
Leaf on Portland street is a tea cafe at heart and the tea cabinet / work of art that greats you on the way in sets the stall out early. A fantastic selection to cover all your brew wants and needs.
We headed in on the opening day and it’s clear to see that Leaf will be a hit in Manchester. The food menu is varied and considered in the right way, the ever underrated soup & sandwich combo ticks a lot of boxes for me on the lunch side of things, both being fresh and full of flavour with some really good bread.
It’ll be interesting to see Leaf develop in Manchester and I for one will enjoy nipping in and seeing it happen.
