Cherry Cola Club feat: Goa Express and The Bleachès
Friday 10th November
Camden stalwart and twisted scene of many infamous faces from Amy Winehouse to The Libertines. Cherry Cola has landed every Friday with the best in local and national rock and roll bands every week. This week two of the hottest bands in the North West are hitting the place up, starting with Burnley lot The Goa Express with sounds reminiscent of similarly hypnotic psych bands of the postmodern era like The Brian Jonestown Massacre and The Dandy’s.
Also playing will be The Bleachès with hazy beats and killer jams fresh from the yarn barn. If you don’t know this band you really should. All followed by a late night rock and roll party till 4am. For a deep sea diver? Get down them apples and pears sunshine.

Dust yourself off, kick out the random, get to a greasy spoon, few cigs and a Berocca and you’ll be feeling almost right. Good, because Night People is back for 7pm and the Puppet Rebellion album launch. You know Puppet Rebellion, they’ve been supporting Slow readers Club all over the country. They are from Manchester, and due to insane demand they have upgraded their album launch to Night People and released 50 extra tickets.
Feeling Gloomy Club – Manchester Launch Night

For 12 years now Feeling Gloomy has been rocking London with sad songs to make you happy. It’s been 8 years in New York and now it’s Manchester’s turn as the Gloom lands at Night People to allow the good folk of Manchester the chance to cry into their beers.
So what can you expect? Well apart from being entertained by Sullen Sean you can expect, in room one, the finest miserablists anthems from the like of The Smiths, Cure, National, Strokes, Dolly Parton, Cult, Joy Division, Depeche Mode and many more. Room two is tear-jerking northern soul.
The Twisted Wheel Club feat Yocky
Sunday 12th November
There’s a few ways to cheer yourself up on a Sunday. One is a roast dinner. One is watching Heartbeat with a box of Maltesers and the other is to dance your arse off at the home of Northern Soul. Night People is the de-facto home of Northern Soul in Manchester and The Twisted Wheel Club’s legendary Sunday sessions. November 12th features the god-like Pete Roberts and guest DJ Yocky the Yockmeister.

The Caravan Club Bimm Takeover feat: Octopus – Hover Bored – Thea Brooks
Wednesday 22nd November
This Wednesday Caravan Club Bimm Takeover will feature Octopus, Hover Bored and Thea Brooks. Forming only in May, Octopus are fresh on the Manchester music scene. Their own brand of tentacle rock combines Brit Pop melodies, jangly guitar riffs and a colourful rhythm section. Hover Bored is a 4 piece grunge/dream pop band influenced by the likes of My Bloody Valentine, Basement, Flesh and others, the result is painfully catchy. Finally Thea Brooks is a Singer-Songwriter producing a blend of folk, country and rock elements. Thea is currently in the process of recording her first EP, Dirt.
Basement Live feat: The Peace Pipers and Jess Megson
Thursday 23rd November
Kicking off a regular night of live music, Basement Live starts off with The Peace Pipers, Jess Megson and Thomas Gibbons. The Peace Pipers are a Psych-Grunge/Paisley-Pop outfit from Manchester. Their sound is an ode to the classic, late-60’s sunshine psych with a twist of lysergic folk and indie-rock thrown in for good measure. Jess Megson has recently released her first album – RISE and will be playing an original mix of flamenco, psychedelic and world music. Finally, newcomer Thomas Gibbons will be playing a mix of covers and originals and will have the honour of being this new events first ever performer.

Friday 24th November
Regular club and live music night Cherry Cola Club will be flaunting some solid rock and roll right ’til the early hours of 4am. On top of this, it will host Salford’s newest Psych band Lavender. With a distinctly northern psychedelic, funk sound, Lavender have been hitting the stages around the North West, delivering “great psych tunes with shimmering guitars and powerhouse choruses.”

Continuing The Twisted Wheel Club’s legendary Sunday sessions, Night People is the place to go for all of your Northern Soul needs. This week will feature legendary DJ Andy Scoffin, spinning his mix of Tamla Motown classics with some rarities, 60’s classic soul and Northern Soul.

Continuing Basement Live’s mix of live music, Night People will play host to the Dead Objectives – A Manchester-Salford collaboration delivering a sound reminiscent of early Dead Kennedy’s, Killing Joke, and Conflict but which, distinctively, remains their own. The night will also host Finished 52 and Say What Again.
