Tsujiri offers a quiet pause in the bustle of Chinatown — a space where tradition, quality, and ritual matter. Founded in Kyoto in 1860, the Tsujiri name is synonymous with world-class matcha, and this small, serene shop wears that history with pride.

Everything here begins with the tea. The matcha used in Tsujiri’s drinks and desserts is still sourced from the tea fields of Uji in Kyoto, where the company was born. That powder — rich, vibrant, unmistakably green — runs through the entire menu: shaken into iced teas, frothed into creamy lattes, and swirled through perfectly balanced soft serve. You’ll find delicate matcha cakes and Japanese sweets too, all handcrafted with an elegance that elevates even the most casual treat.

This space is compact but thoughtful, with clean lines and a focus on detail that nods to Japanese minimalism. While the menu leans toward sweet comfort, the feeling is ceremonial — a chance to sit, sip, and reset. For those less familiar with matcha or hojicha, the team here is happy to talk through flavours and origins.
