Disco lovers are usually clad in the very best vintage wear, from 70s style lycra, to fringed jackets and platform boots – the fashion is intrinsically linked with the genre, and has been ever since its inception.
Deriving inspiration from modern dance floor greats such as Franc Moody and Crazy P, AXNÉR’s hotly anticipated physical single release will coincide with a collection of hand-picked vintage pieces with a 70s aesthetic from Margot & Lux.
The duo’s debut single, ‘Got The Look’ has taken the airwaves by storm, appearing on Amazing Radio, Brooklyn’s The Face and has also been spun by no other than funk legend himself, Craig Charles on his BBC 6music show.
Alongside Swedish vocalist, Julia Axnér and one half of Disco Freak Recordings, Chris Davies, the track also features the great Ralph Rolle who provides the beats for Nile Rogers & Chic. It’s a self-empowered celebration of the dance floors of early 70s New York.
Margot & Lux will join the band at Ducie Street Warehouse to showcase specialised vintage pieces available to purchase on the day, alongside AXNÉR’s record.
The store is run by fabulous Geordie gal and vintage hoarder, Holly Edgar who has had the store on Port Street since November last year.
Margot & Lux’s collections offer a more upmarket vintage experience that features hand-picked, luxury items – making it a great place to start for those wanting to shop more sustainably.
The shop is also available to hire out for product launches, exhibitions, photography shoots and any other relevant events, as it sits below two large, open space rooms.
The event is free to attend and will run all-day on Sunday 22nd May at Ducie Street Warehouse.
