The countdown has begun, and it has somehow become socially acceptable to start mentioning the C-word in general conversation. It’s nearly blooming Christmas! So as the panic sets in as to what on earth to get the boy/girl/sister/brother/mother/lover who has everything, you’d do well to stop by the Hey Little Cupcake haven on Quay Street in Spinningfields.
I was lucky enough to pop in for a quick masterclass at Hey Little HQ, sadly the outcome wasn’t pretty – turns out i just haven’t got the knack, but it made me appreciate even more the delicacy of the designs and the not-too-sickly taste of the custom made treats when done the right way.
There really does look to be something for everyone – with custom-made cupcakes, to cakepops designed especially for the yuletide season, to DIY cookie kits,to designs so intricate you’d be hesitant to take a bite into the work of art!
With so much love and care going into each product, any of the above are sure to make a lovely festive gift, and certainly trump the go-to box of smellies that are so often relied on to solve a tough present-buying conundrum.
