For the last four years Rob Evans and Chris Roberts from With Love project have been searching out brands with passion and purpose.
Now, with the help of NOMA they will be transforming a space in the recently refurbished Dantzic into a unique six week pop-up department store. The store will feature many of the brands they’ve met and worked with over the years together, along with a few new names.
The With Love department store will be the perfect place to get hold of presents with a difference from story-led brands and creative companies who are driven to make things better, showcasing a plethora of products from £5-£5000.
There’s one off pieces of furniture; British made trainers; tea hampers from an English tea plantation; lamps made in Manchester; Seaweed infused Rum from Wales; and glasses from Scotland.
The department store opens its doors on Thursday 14th November at 6pm and will be open Wednesday – Saturday 12-7pm until Saturday 21st December, allowing for those last minute purchases for loved ones, or even just for yourself.
In a special series of late night events, the shop will extend its opening hours each Thursday to host a series of different events featuring interactive workshops and activities ranging in topic from beer and cocktail tasting to live drawing and talks.
The store is curated by Chris and Rob, who see the space as a celebration of those brands they have been meeting, photographing and admiring since starting With Love in 2014.
Chris comments, “The department store seemed like the next obvious move and thanks to the help of Standard Practice and NOMA it’s becoming a reality.
“The chance for the space came about working alongside Standard Practice in the Old Bank Residency. It started as a conversation over coffee and has turned into a fully fledged realisation of an idea. It’s something I don’t think could have happened anywhere else and NOMA have been really supportive of the idea from the start.”
Rob says, “The world is full of mediocre, faceless, parity products and services created with no joy, just for a bit of profit. With the store we will be bringing together brands who inspire us, companies we respect and people who are daring to do things differently.”
Nicky Moore, brand and marketing lead at NOMA, adds, “We’re excited to bring such an array of ambitious, passionate businesses together for this pop-up and to invite Manchester to experience their stories in the surroundings of Dantzic, a beautifully refurbished 1930s warehouse which is the perfect location to showcase these high quality brands and products.”
The With Love Department Store is the perfect alternative to high-street shopping this season, providing an opportunity to get up close and personal with lots of brands that don’t have a physical space, and to purchase investment pieces for friends and family.
