The month of September commemorates a fair few exciting events; the relaunch of pumpkin spiced lattes, coat and sunglasses weather and Secondhand September, a month long celebration of sustainable shopping

To commemorate this, Margot & Lux, the boutique vintage store in the heart of Northern Quarter, is hosting a huge preloved market on the second floor of its store featuring hand picked pieces from the wardrobes of some familiar faces.

The concept features an incredible collection of staples from Instagram influencers and fashion forerunners including; Sian Williams, Poppy Almond, July Child and Anisha Kalsi.

You’ll find pieces from brands such as RIXO, Lisa Says Gah!, Omnes, ARKET, New Balance and so, so much more all at affordable prices, alongside curated collections from fellow Manchester-based independent designers and vintage collectors.

Some of the businesses already confirmed include; Dirty Disco, Evolve Vintage and Chris John Hend, as well as White Mary Vintage who upcycles neglected vintage gems creating unique pieces for fashion lovers and rule-breakers, especially those that are planet conscious.

Hollie Edgar, owner of Margot & Lux said: “The market is running in celebration of Second Hand September, with the hope of proving to people how easy it is to shop second hand vs new.

“With a cost of living crisis and climate emergency, I wanted to do something to help people shop incredible things at a fraction of their original price so they can experience second hand in our typically curated setting. The space is super inviting, easy to browse and customers can expect to see amazing brands such as Reformation, Lisa Says Gah! and Ganni handpicked from our favourite wardrobes.

“We want a community feeling and to shake off the effort that comes with hunting for second hand clothing. Though our bread and butter is curated premium vintage, it isn’t realistic to think that people only want that! We know that our customers shop at loads of places from vintage to high end and the high street, but they don’t have to buy those sought after items new. There’s no packed rails, just well selected desirable collections and affordable prices!”

Margot & Lux is open Wednesday to Saturday 11am – 6pm and 11am – 5pm Sunday. The preloved market is available to shop until Monday 26th September.
