May the 4th be with you!

Celebrating both Star Wars day and the birthday of George Lucas this May, Generation Gallery in Manchester city centre, will be hosting an exhibition featuring the Star Wars official fine art collection. Each piece of art is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity from Lucasfilm, original artwork as well as pieces limited to less then 95 worldwide will be on show.

“Lucasfilm are shaking things up, working with a new breed of retro artists to create pieces of illustrative art that I think will really surprise fans. The studio are releasing a collection of Victorian inspired portraits featuring the Star Wars characters, these pieces especially,  are a good  example of how daring this artwork is” – Robert Marks, Gallery Manager.

As well as work from new and exciting artists, the collection includes pieces by the late John Alvin. John was one of the most famous cinematic artists of all time creating the movie posters for over 135 films including E.T and Blade Runner.

Fans from all over the country will be attending the invitation-only launch event on the evening of the 4th of May at the gallery where they can mix with Darth Vader and a squad of his Stormtroopers while enjoying the artwork.
