We’ve got ‘The School of Grub’, a free 6 week course to support those who are thinking about a career in street food, a health food restaurant in Ancoats who are donating 3,000 children’s meals to families in need and a Didsbury restaurant who gave 100 meals to the emergency services helping those affected by the recent flooding. Bloody hell, our poor city has had it bad recently – but its the spirit and kindness of the people who make Manchester what it is, and we have many more heartwarming stories to share from this month…

January’s random act of kindness, saw us head out on ‘Blue Monday’, the third Monday in January which is considered to be one of the most depressing days of the year. With a combination of the dark winter nights, cold weather and the end of the Christmas and New Year festivities, Blue Monday is usually pretty bad – but with us all on lockdown this year – it’s a lot worse! We joined forces with Jack Arts who kindly let us use their billboard and poster spaces all over Manchester to put a range of uplifting messages up to let people know they’re not alone in how they feel…

It was so overwhelming to see the words we’ve been positing on Instagram for the past 2 years spread across our city for all to see, and the response it’s had has been mega.
