Ice Skating Rink at Cathedral Gardens
From Monday 1st November
It’s already been known as ‘Scare Skate’ for over a week, but now it’s open as a festive Ice Skating rink. Over at Cathedral Gardens, it’ll be there until the 3rd January, so you’ve got plenty of time to strap on your boots and fall flat on your face countless times.
An Evening with Queen Bayard and Bay Bryan @ Feel Good Club
Wednesday 3rd November
A theatrical evening at Feel Good Club this week with two VERY different acts. Queen Bayard is all things drag, while Bay Bryan brings singer-songwriter realness. As well as electric performances from both acts, there’ll also be a raffle to win prizes, with all proceeds going to The Proud Trust.
Urmston Artisan Makers Market

Taking place on the 1st Saturday of every month, right in the centre of Urmston, the Artisan Makers Market is home to loads of stalls, culinary treats, artists, vintage dealers and designer-makers, all being entertained by local musicians and DJs throughout the day.

Celebrate World Vegan Day this week with two of Freight Island’s incredible traders – Pomona Island and Mi&Pho. They’ve joined forces to create a fully vegan Vietnamese tasting menu – paired with some of Pomona’s incredible beers. 6-courses and 6-paired beers for £50 per person.
Beer & Cheese Tasting @ Wandering Palate

At the Wandering Palate in Monton this week – a Beer & Cheese Tasting session, where you’ll be taken through 6 chosen cheeses each paired with a different beer. It’ll include local and national cheeses, as well as beers from Wild Beer Co in Somerset and our very own Manchester Union Lager.
Wine Tasting Experience at Harvey Nichols: The Hidden Gems

Head up to the Second Floor Deli Bar at Harvey Nichols for a celebration of the lesser-known and often-overlooked bottles that sit outside the mainstream, as their resident experts guides us through underrated wine gems. Tickets are £40 per person and include a 90-minute tasting session, five wines pre selected by HN experts and nibbles.

Bonfire Night x Havana Club Takeover at Alvarium

‘Completely a Hustling Place’ at Manchester Central Library

This week sees the launch of ‘Completely a Hustling Place’ at Manchester Central Library, a FREE art show from Venture Arts, one which works exclusively with artists with learning difficulties. There’s photography, ceramics, textiles, illustration, print, light and sound, all exceptionally creative and uninhibited.
‘Original Randm Material’ – Comedy from Ben Randm

Hitting up the unique exhibition space at the Great Northern this week is Ben Randm, a fantastic stand-up comedian who is solely independent; sourcing all of his own venues, artwork and promotion himself. Expect plenty of laughs, but also some deep subject matters ranging from racism to gender identity and male suicide prevention.
Life Drawing in Levenshulme Old Library

For experienced & novice artists alike, this relaxed arty social is a chance to use your chosen medium to capture the ultimate subject: an actual human being. Pencils & paper are provided, however feel free to bring whatever materials you like to capture the subject. It’s also BYOB and you’ll get some interlude snackage and a Jazzy Jazz playlist throughout.
Doc N’ Roll Film Festival 2021

Doc´n Roll Film Festival returns to the big screens of Manchester for its fourth edition in the city. With eight feature-length documentaries premiering at HOME and Chapeltown Picturehouse between 2nd and 7th November. From definitive portraits of two trailblazing women to an Irish star’s mission to foster hope and healing, and from Brazilian Black pride to the hidden history of drum and bass, these feature-length documentaries spotlight era-defining music and those who made it.
The Walk: Little Amal comes to Manchester
Wednesday 3rd November
The culmination of an epic 8000km journey, Little Amal, a nine-year-old refugee girl in the form of a 3.5 metre puppet will be arriving in Manchester this Wednesday after setting off from the Turkish-Syrian border in late July. This free event will see Little Amal arrive at Castlefield Bowl alongside live music, song, puppetry and dance.
Ergon Theatre: The Wicked Problem @ Contact Theatre

This production at Contact Theatre couldn’t come at a more apt time, as world leaders sit down at the Cop26 summit in Glasgow this week. Exploring themes of climate change and sustainability, this play offers the chance for the audience to interact directly with the performance, whilst investigating the future of Greater Manchester.

An Evening of Dolly Parton @ Withington Public Hall Institute

Dolly Parton tribute act Kennedy Caitlin will be bringing all of the country faves to Withington this Saturday, from ‘9-5’ to ‘Here You Come Again’ and ‘Jolene’ to ‘I Will Also Love You’. The Gin Bar and pizza (from Basilico) are available too for a night of good times and sing-a-longs!
Lunar x Warped Day & Night Charity Takeover Party at Hatch

Lunar and Warped are coming together one again with an 11 hour party – raising as much money as possible for the Afghan Refugees (Care4Calais) who do invaluable work with migrants and refugees in the UK, France and Belgium. The party starts at 3pm and finishes at 2am – it’s a biggie!
