We’ll kick things off with one of our favourite streets in town, with or without a terrace, Thomas Street. Home to The Bay Horse Tavern, Wolf at the Door, Cane & Grain, Terrace and the new Fierce Beer which is now taking bookings this new terrace has got it all. From craft beer to bao buns and everything in between (including BANGING pies from Bay Horse).
Going to a more specific terrace but a new one none the less, Alvarium took over Dorsey Street, the little nook just off Tib Street to open up there rather large outdoor seating area. Rumour has it they’ve got a brand new menu for April plus all their usual vegan cocktails and Guinness!
The next phase of the hugely popular ex-MOT station serving up Detroit pizzas sees a 250-capacity campfire beer garden complete with a margarita bar, opening up on 14th April from their Swan Street location on the edge of Ancoats & Northern Quarter (opposite Band on the Wall).
Ducie Street Warehouse
Opening up with staycations and a brand new terrace that is covered and heated serving up the first sip of tea to the last cocktail of the night. They will also be serving up a preview of the selection of dishes from the new All Day Dining menu perfect for sharing. And if you fancy making a night of it, Ducie Street is also offering staycations – one of the only places in Manchester with large self-contained luxury apartments offering a truly home-away-from-home stay.
We no longer have to dream about Stevenson Square being entirely pedestrianised as they have no pretty much closed the entirety of it to cars and buses and let restaurants pop out plenty of tables. Dine at the likes of Flok, Ezra & Gil, BAB, Quarter House, Eastern Bloc and Ply!
From April 12th The Refuge is BACK baby! Going Alfresco on the Waterhouse Way terrace, it’s time to tuck into a massive Sunday Roast Platter or alll the usual Refuge classics as well as brand new dishes and a corker of a wine list.
Tucked away on top of Con Club is Altrincham’s only rooftop terrace complete with a tipi! Plus there’s a massive terrace on the ground floor too, serving up all their usual delights, plenty of drinks and pretty much a guaranteed good time. No bookings – just turn up and have fun
It wouldn’t be a list of things we’re most looking forward to with a mention of Crazy Pedro’s. Both the NQ and Bridge Streets sites are open from April 12th, serving up massive pizzas and plenty of Hooch. I can’t even contain my excitement for the return of their Bottomless Pizza Brunch. Available every day until 9pm!
Escape to Freight Island
There’s already loads planned at Escape to Freight Island including eight days of live orchestral music plus all their usual absolutely banging grub and plenty of booze. The outdoor space is open seven days a week until 12am!
If you managed to get a table when Oast House opened their bookings – then credit to you. That was like securing Glasto tickets. Safe to say, we’re excited, you’re excited, EVERYBODY’S excited for the return of Oast House. They have saved some tables for walk-ins too!
Cutting Room Square
A saviour for most city centre dwellers in Lockdown 1.0, Cutting Room Square is home to the likes of Elnecot, NAM, Rudy’s, Jane Eyre and plenty more. It’s the type of terrace you can easily spend all day, from bottomless brunch to a nice wind-down evening cocktail.
Easily the best view in town, sat atop on the 20th floor, 20 Stories terrace is filled with cocktails, food, chatter, heaters – basically everything you need for the perfect 12th April.
If you like your terrace with a bit of everything, Hatch is the terrace for you. Complete with a whole range of retail and street food traders like Grandad’s Sausages, FUKU, Herbivorous and KBOM.
This terrace – worth millions (!!) – is phenomenal. It’s boujee and the ultimate place to relax with heaters to keep you warm, steaks from the grill and delicious cocktails.
The Wharf has now confirmed they will be opening their massive garden from 12th April meaning you can have an absolutely glorious time basking in the sun (hopefully) by the canal with your family and friends.
