Come down to my house in Stretford and you’ll find all manner of weird and wonderful trinkets that I’ve picked up at various antiques fairs, car boot sales, Facebook Marketplace and charity shops over the years.
There’s a full taxidermy chicken in my front room, old Kelloggs milk bottles in my kitchen, and my bedroom is adorned with about 30 vintage crucifixes – all of them bought from some dodgy fellas at car boots or job lots online.
Regardless of what people say, you can’t beat the old, vintage, retro looks from a time when design was bold and colours were the exact opposite of ‘muted’.
And so this vintage home event, bringing together some of the UK’s best independent small traders of furniture, lighting, textiles and artwork, will be perfect for anyone looking to perk their house up and move away from the flatpack (boring) IKEA gear.
The Vintage Home Show will be coming to Victoria Baths on Sunday 6th March, with a massive collection of mid-century furniture, retro lighting, ceramics, vintage textiles & artwork for your home. From G-Plan to Ercol, Cushions to Footstools this event will bring out the interior designer in you.
The event will feature vintage interior styling from 55 specialist dealers, with lots of unique and fabulous items from the 1930’s-1970’s for your home including Teak Sideboards, Funky Chairs, Industrial Lighting, Retro Artwork, Atomic Fabrics and much more.
Tickets for the event start at £4, although if you want to get in there early doors to grab the best stuff, their ‘Early Bird’ tickets are £6. You can buy them below…
