A wonderful mix of tradition and decadent Embankment Kitchen flair, the restaurant’s new three-course festive menu delivers a hearty mix of dishes.

To start, diners can enjoy a caramelised onion soup, a vegan wild mushroom and hazelnut pate, or a delicious ox cheek raviolo with a chestnut and sage velouté.

Moving onto the mains, any festive dinner would not be complete without turkey – in this case, a roast turkey ballotine served with goose fat potatoes, pigs in blankets, and cranberry sauce is on offer.

If turkey isn’t your thing, you can enjoy roast sirloin of beef, a sea bass risotto, or the Kitchen’s salted beetroot and orange wellington, which is served with rosemary and garlic roast potatoes and a pine nut and basil sauce.

All mains are served with a selection of roasted and steamed seasonal vegetables, along with gravy and sauces, giving a cosy feel to the special set menu. To end your meal, you can enjoy a Christmas pudding, buttermilk pannacotta, or a blood orange and passionfruit tart.

Across the 2022 festive period, Embankment Kitchen will be open every night of the week, with the set menu available to book from Monday through to Sunday. What’s more, the bar will be open from 4pm serving, along with its usual wines and cocktails, a special selection of Winter Cocktails – made especially for the festive period.

Warm up with the EK mulled wine or The Drunken Gingerbread Man, an indulgent hot chocolate served with a decent glug of gingerbread rum and topped with cream.

Other cocktail specials include the Winter Spiced Negroni, a fiery take on the classic with spiced rum, fireball whisky and the EK mulled spiced syrup, as well as the Orange Chocolatini, a sumptuous mix of Baileys, chocolate cream liqueur, Aperol, and orange zest.

Embankment Kitchen is located just across from Cathedral Gardens and Exchange Square, making it the perfect place to warm up after a day spent browsing Manchester’s Christmas Markets. If dining for the Festive Set Menu, booking is essential 72 hours before you plan to dine.
