Brought to us by the team behind the Tre Ciccio restaurants, The Wild Goose opened its doors in Altrincham back in December last year.
Ever since, people have been raving about its dishes that fuse Anglo-French classics with a modern style of cooking and brand-new, fresh flavours.
The restaurant is a relaxing retreat that’s perfect for a romantic evening meal or a spot of lunch on a rainy day, made even better by its brand-new lunch Table D’Hote menu.
Available Wednesday - Friday, 12pm - 4pm you can grab two-courses for £17 or three for £22.
To start, there’s the option of a creamy Celeriac Soup, interspersed by crunchy, cheesy croutons and doused in a white truffle oil to finish it off wonderfully, then the Twice Baked Goats Cheese Souffle, which honestly sounds like heaven on earth.
If neither of those take your fancy, you can also choose from the Oak Smoked Salmon & Chive Hash Brown with a poached egg and hollandaise sauce or the Grilled Wagyu Marrow Bone with onions and sourdough toast. Yummmay.
Making up the list of mains is the Smoked Haddock with a smooth colcannon and a soft poached egg, accompanied by grain butter mustard sauce. Alongside this you’ll also have the option to choose from a Butternut Squash and Red Onion Tart with Appleby's Cheshire cheese glaze, Roast Cumbrian Chicken with gnocchi, wild mushroom and herb ragout, and the legendary Steak & Frites - flash grilled Hereford rump steak with pommes frites and Cafe de Paris butter.
And what meal would be complete without a dessert? And when I say dessert, I obviously mean a Sticky Toffee Pudding, which is always number one on my list. As well as the Sticky Toffee pud, you can also finish your meal with a Pot au Chocolat with Grand Marnier, a Classic Creme Brûlée with shortbread biscuits and a selection of Ice Cream & Sorbets for the inner children.
