Fried chicken dons Popeyes will open its second site in Manchester next month

The new branch will be taking walk-ins and drive-thrus from 24 April on Bury New Road, following its opening on Piccadilly Gardens last year.

Tom Crowley, PopeyesUK Chief Executive Officer, commented: “Following the success of our Manchester Piccadilly restaurant, we are thrilled to bring our newest Popeyes® to Bury New Road, marking our third restaurant in the North West.

Our new restaurant will also be a Drive-Thru, meaning customers in Greater Manchester can enjoy our Famous Louisiana Chicken by dining in, via the Drive Thru lane, or by ordering online for kerbside collection.

“Our most recent openings have been some of the biggest to date, not just in the UK but for Popeyes globally, and we’re confident that Bury New Road will be just as popular.”

It’ll be serving up its 12-hour marinated fried chicken sandwiches, wings, tenders and breakfast sandwiches, along with US style biscuits and cajun gravy.

Famed for catering Jay-Z and Beyonce’s wedding in 2008, Popeyes has 30 locations in the UK already, and is aiming to double that number this year. It has 4000 restaurants globally.

The city centre branch saw queues snaking around Piccadilly Gardens when it opened in October last year.

The new restaurant will be located at 288-292 Bury New Rd, Manchester, M7 2YJ. It opens on April 24.
