Things are afoot once again in Stretford, as a new pizza joint opens up on Chester Road. A new addition to the old Samir’s spot, it looks set to be the area’s newest must-visit neighbourhood gaff.
BAKEHOUSE32 is a proper old-school New York kinda place, serving up New York-style pizzas, stuffed bagels, beers and ice creams from local producers Churn Ices. With plans for Detroit-style pizzas in the coming weeks too – it looks like we’ll all be getting on the Metrolink at some point in the next week to give these bad boys a go.
Available for delivery and collection now, there’s plenty of classic New York pies available, including the classic Margherita (£8), Pepperoni & Hot Honey (£9), Coppa Ham & Wild Mushroom (£9) and Aubergine, Olive And Caper (£8).
In addition, over the next few weeks they’ll be baking their very own bagels in store, filled to the brim with a variety of classic New York fillings such as the unbeatable Ruben, Salt Beef and Liptauer; a Slovakian spicy cheese spread that you’ll find in every deli in Manhattan.
Like many endeavors, BAKEHOUSE32 is a product of lockdown, time that has allowed people to hone and perfect their recipes and concepts, and in this case, owner Dave, a born-and-bred Stretfordian has created something he can truly be proud of. An alumni of The Sip Club and the Spirit of The Essoldo Cinema Club, he’s a true local and looks to champion the area in which he lives.
As a result, alongside collection from the venue, BAKEHOUSE32 are also offering delivery using SHOCAL – an Urmston-based delivery service which is much friendlier both to the local business and the local community than the other delivery ‘Big Boys’.
SHOCAL’s promise is that with every order made, a percentage goes back into the local community. Even more great news for the people of Stretford!
